     Rabbi Eric M. Berk comes to Beth Knesset Bamidbar while concurrently serving his full-time rabbinate as Spiritual Counselor, Spiritual Care Coordinator, and Chaplain for the only Jewish Hospice in Los Angeles: The Skirball Hospice, A Program of the Los Angeles Jewish Home for the Aging.  In addition to counseling patients and families of all ages and religious beliefs, he works in collaboration with physicians, nurses, and social workers.

      Ordained by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion (Los Angeles) in 2008, Rabbi Berk has also earned a MA in Hebrew Studies from The University of Texas at Austin, and a BFA in Film and Television Production from New York University.

       He served multiple years as Rabbinic Intern for Congregation Or Ami in Calabasas, CA and Congregation Kol Ami in West Hollywood, CA, as well as two years as Student Rabbi of Temple Beth El in Santa Maria, CA.  He has enjoyed living all over the world, especially in Israel.  He continues to enjoy photography, the study of Hebrew poetry, and Los Angeles live music.

      Rabbi Berk, in addition to leading services on Shabbat, teaches adult education programs on Saturday and Confirmation and Religious school on Sunday.Rabbi reading Torah 2
